Past event
The first meeting of WG07 was held on January 15, 2008, in Washington, D.C. (meeting minutes).

WG07 organized a very successfull and well-attended International Workshop on Asphalt Binders and Mastics in Madison, Wisconsin, on September 16-17, 2010. More details can be found here.

Coordinator:
Dr. H. Bahia

Scope of WG07:
The WG07 focuses on improving mathematical modeling of rheological and damage resistance behavior of conventional and modified bitumens as well as bitumen mastics. The main objective is to exchange knowledge on best practices to define properties, to model these properties, and to recommend methods that could be used world wide. The objective will be achieved through meetings, publications, and sharing data and reports. Through interaction with other working groups and organizations (such as RILEM, ETG, and others) the role of bitumens and mastics in asphalt mixture behavior and performance will be defined.

Definition:
Modified bitumens are those bitumens treated post refining of crude oil, to achieve specific improvements in properties.
