The ISAP TC also sponsored the TRB Workshop "Mechanistic Modeling and Prediction of Permanent Deformation in Asphalt Pavements" organized by the TRB TC AFK50, on Jan 10 2010 1:30PM- 4:30PM, Washington DC.
This workshop was designed for both practitioners and researchers to provide an understanding of mechanistic modeling of permanent deformation in asphalt pavements. The integration of material characterization and structural design to predict permanent deformation was discussed as well as the laboratory experiments needed to determine the parameters of mechanistic models and the influence of material characteristics and properties on these parameters.
The following presentations were given:
| Energy-Based Model for Prediction of Permanent Deformation in Asphalt Pavements (P10-1021) | Tom Scarpas, X. Liu and Niki Kringos- Delft University of Technology, Netherlands |
| Permanent Deformation of Bituminous Mixes: Experimental Facts and Modeling (P10-1022) | Di Benedetto, Hervé - Ecole Nationale des Travaux Publics de l'Etat, France |
Mechanistic Analysis of Permanent Deformation of Asphalt Mixtures from Laboratory Experiments to Field Predictions (P10-1023) |
Masad, Eyad A., Rashid Abu Al-Rub, Little, Dallas N. – Texas A&M University |
Rutting Predictions for FHWA Accelerated Load Facility (P10-1024) |
Schwartz, Charles
W. - University of Maryland, College Park Gibson, Nelson Harold - FHWA Kutay, Muhammed Emin - Michigan State University Carvalho, Regis L. - Applied Research Associates, Inc. |
In
June 2009 a 3-days Workshop was held on the topic of Chemo-Mechanics
of Bituminous Materials. The Proceedings
of this event are now available. Please contact us if
